Though the name "Weezo" might sound like a symptom of Asthma, it is actually a software product distributed as a freeware application which allows you to quickly turn your home PC into a web server. The main goal of setting up Weezo on your system is to make your files and media accessible to you where ever you're going.

Some of the features of Weezo which are the most popular are currently the RSS reader, bookmark synchronization, the chat program and the ability to stream your region-restricted TV station to you wherever you are in the world.

Collaboration features which Weezo currently includes are the ability to share files by using a drag-and-drop interface, generate torrent files for sharing, create ZIP files of whatever you have on your hard drive in order to upload to a separate FTP server for easy retrieval and given remote users access to the files being served from your local hard drive.

The interface of Weezo is actually pretty modern-looking and resembles something we'd consider a web 2.0 application. It is very functional and has been improved a lot over previous versions. The tabbed user interface makes Weezo easy to configure, but with so many functions and features, you might want to grab a coffee to fully configure Weezo to act exactly as you want it to.

With regards to online security and the possibility of hacker attacks, the developers of Weezo have actually given a lot of priority to security concerns and therefore SSL connections are used while the application will actually generate completely random passwords which are extremely difficult to crack. (IE. They are not susceptible to dictionary-style attacks).

This collaboration and filesharing web server application packs in an absolute ton of features and though the main graphical user interface might require a little bit of work, it manages to pull it all off. The interface aside, the features and usefulness of Weezo is impressive and we look forward to seeing what the developer comes up with next.
